The Mets come back from a West Coast trip and it's hard to see them getting up for this game without their two leaders in the line up in Daniel Murphy and David Wright. The Mets on the season are 28th in OPS vs. LHP and that is with David Wright who has a .384 average and a .967 OPS vs. LHP this year. Without Wright the Mets would likely be last in the league and now they are also without their best hitter in Daniel Murphy who owned tonight's starter Alex Wood going 5-11. This should make it an easier night for Wood who goes up agaisnt a Mets club that is hitting .158 vs. LHP over their last 10 games.
The Braves have really turned it around and trail the Giants by 1 game. Their bullpen has really tightened up as well as their entire pitching staff posting a 2.18 ERA combined over their last 10 games. Dillon Gee gets the nod for the Mets, but he's had just 1 quality start over the last 7 starts. The Braves are 37-13 in their last 50 following an off day and I see no reason why they would not win this game tonight.
